Mr. Surendra Baste (DME, DIE) has worked in many Engineering Industries. After passing his Mechanical Engineering Diploma he joined BEST Undertaking Mumbai as trainee Engineer at Dadar Workshop in year 1972. He was given an assignment in Gear Box and Fuel Injection department.
Due to keen Interest in Design and manufacturing processes, he joined FERRODIE LTD. (Famous Tool Company) manufacturing dies, jigs & fixtures etc. as Tool Design Engineer. He designed various kinds of Press Tools (Progressive Dies, Compound Dies, Deep Draw Dies, and Press Brake Dies), Injection Moulds, Compression Moulds, Pressure Die Casting Dies, Gravity Die Casting Dies for companies like SIEMENS, L&T, Crompton Greaves, HAL and many other companies. He always updated his knowledge by going through books from British Council Library. He also gathered thorough knowledge in Heat Treatment and surface finish of Metals.
Based on his deep Knowledge and experience he was appointed as development Engineer in Exemplar Engineering Pvt. Ltd. with Technical collaboration with Nihon Spindle, Japan. Due to his hard work, result oriented developments, he was promoted as Works Manager and was sent to Japan for study of Card Autolevellers, Chute fed Systems, Spindle Lubricating Machine etc.
In 2014, Exemplar Engineering Pvt. Ltd. decided to merge into some Non textile company and stopped all activities of manufacturing Textile Products. Presently, he is a Partner in new company which has taken over all the activities in the name of EXEMPLAR ENTERPRISES. He has also developed AIR CURTAINS for pharmaceutical, chemical and other Engineering Industries as well as Commercial Malls and Hospitals. Being a R&D person and quality conscious man he is always keen in developing new products.
